Financial planning is personal.

For Jody, financial planning is personal. She didn’t grow up wealthy, and her own life has included many of the same financial stages and transitions her clients experience—saving carefully, balancing competing priorities, building a career and family, navigating uncertainty, and going through divorce. She has also seen firsthand how profoundly life can change after the loss of a spouse, including watching her mother and others close to her navigate life after loss.

Those experiences have shaped not only Jody’s understanding of financial security, but also the kind of advisor she strives to be. She understands that financial decisions are rarely just about numbers. They can be tied to family, relationships, independence, uncertainty and the future someone imagined for themselves. Sometimes the most important questions are also the ones people are most hesitant to ask.

Jody believes good financial advice should be grounded, thoughtful and personal. It should help make complicated decisions easier to understand, give clients the confidence to ask questions openly, and provide a clear path forward—especially during times when life feels anything but certain.

At Anchor Point Financial Planning, Jody brings her professional expertise and personal perspective together to help women, couples and families make thoughtful financial decisions through every stage of life. She has a particular passion for helping people navigate transitions—whether divorce, the loss of a spouse, retirement, a career or family change, or simply a point in life when it is time to reevaluate what comes next. Her goal is for clients to feel heard, informed and supported, with a financial plan and investment strategy designed around their life—not simply their portfolio.

Originally from the West Coast, Jody moved to North Carolina in 2008 and made Seven Lakes home in 2011. She shares life there with her daughter, Reilly. Outside of work, Jody enjoys traveling, live music, cooking, photography, volunteering in the community, exploring new hobbies and just about anything that involves being near the water. Most of all, she enjoys experiencing many of those things with Reilly.
